Opel GT
Time to start modifying

First I mount the regulator (it's rated for 60hp, same as the Opel GT's engine). Unlike your propane grill that you use for cookouts, this regulator has to have water run through it to heat it, as otherwise it will freeze with extended use and you would have to sit on the side of the road waiting for the regulator to thaw so you could start your car back up.

I mounted the regulator close to the heater hoses to have a place to tap in. There were already two T's in the lines, hey gota have some luck somewhere, so I simply tied into them.

Ok now for the carburetor, more of an injector body actually. First as it came off of a forklift, yes it does have a governor, a simple aluminum stop block. Cool, a little modification and I can use it for a different stop block, one so I can't push the gas peddle too far and turn the butterfly in the bottom of the carburetor backwards. No having to worry about a sweet spot; push the gas it accelerates, push it too far and the butterfly starts closing backwards, and you slow back down, the stop prevents that.

Next is the linkage. Instead of a pulling linkage, on an Opel GT it is a rotating linkage. Simple enough, mount the Carburetor sideways, making sure to note which way the linkage rotates, and the carburetor opens. An old solid wire tie clamp and a sawed off bolt ought to work well as all I need is a little extra length to the carburetors linkage. Then grind two flats in the sawed off bolt so the Opel GT's linkage mechanism fits. Wala, one linkage.
