Opel GT

A little fire takes her right down to the metal pretty quickly.

Even where the Bondo was thick, and the surface uneven, the flame pops it out easily.

A light hand sanding, and she is ready for the new work.

By time I cut away the rust I ended up with some pretty major holes. Add to that the smashed front, all the Bondo from the seam in the center, where some one had replaced the front end once before. Well is the fender really worth saving. No, but then again the whole car is like this. Hit in the back, hit in the front, the whole car coated with a layer of Bondo, and where there isn't Bondo there is rust. Basically the car is junk. But hey, for a daily driver that will have a little style, ah we'll throw on a couple more patches on and a little more Bondo. Doll it up a bit, just don't try taking her across any show block, she won't win. But she does have the strongest Chassis I have ever seen under an Opel GT, from the front suspension back, no rust at all. Just look at that jack mount, when is the last time you saw one that solid?
